AIM is a Madrid-based group of conference interpreters working for governments, EU and UN bodies, and companies that cannot afford a misunderstanding. We handle the whole language side of your event: the interpreters in the booth, the booth itself, and the technical setup around it. One team, one point of contact, from the first quote to the last session. We have been doing this for thirty years, and we hold ISO 23155 certification, the international standard written specifically for conference interpreting.
Any agency can send you an interpreter. What institutional and corporate clients check before they sign is different: who accredits those interpreters, and who answers the phone when something goes wrong at 8am on the day of the summit. Here is where we stand on both.
Our core team belongs to AIIC, the International Association of Conference Interpreters, and holds official accreditation with European Union institutions and United Nations agencies. That accreditation is not a line on a website. It is earned interpreter by interpreter, and it is the same filter the EU and the UN apply before they let anyone into the booth at their own meetings.
AIM is certified under ISO 23155, the international standard specific to conference interpreting services. The certification covers how we prepare each assignment, how we build the team, and how we run the technical side in the booth. For a procurement department, it is the document that turns “trust us” into something they can put in a file and defend to their own director.
AIM provides simultaneous interpreting into Spain’s co-official languages for the Congreso de los Diputados, the lower house of the Spanish Parliament, as part of a joint venture with AIB. Public-sector work at that level is won by open tender and audited throughout. It is the hardest reference to earn in this market and the one no competitor can copy.
Most clients come to us for the interpreting and end up handing us the logistics too, because splitting the two between vendors is where events break. These are the services you can ask us for, together or separately.
Real-time interpreting from soundproof booths, for congresses, shareholder meetings and international panels. The audience hears the speech in their own language as it happens, with no pauses. This is the format for any event with a full agenda and more than two working languages. Read more about simultaneous interpreting.
The interpreter waits for the speaker to finish a passage, then delivers it. It suits press conferences, contract signings, bilateral negotiations and small meetings where a booth would be overkill. Slower than simultaneous, but closer and more personal, and often the right call for a room of ten people rather than a hall of three hundred.
Interpreters who travel with your delegation: factory audits, trade fairs at IFEMA, diplomatic missions, site visits. The work happens on the move, off the stage, and it needs interpreters who read a room and hold absolute discretion.
When part of your audience is in the room and part is on a screen, we run the platform and the multilingual streaming so both sides get the same service. Remote simultaneous interpreting (RSI) also lets you bring in a specialist interpreter for a rare language pair without flying anyone in.
Spanish Sign Language (LSE) interpreting and plain-language interpreting (ILS) for events that need to reach deaf attendees or a wider public. Public bodies and universities increasingly require this by law, and few conference-interpreting firms in Madrid offer it in-house. We do.
Interpreting at this level is not about being fluent. It is about knowing the vocabulary of the room before you walk into it. Our interpreters come from different professional backgrounds, so we can put the right specialist in front of the right audience.
We cover medical and pharmaceutical congresses, where a wrong term in a clinical trial session is not an option, and legal and arbitration proceedings, where the interpreted word carries into the record. We work financial and fintechsummits, from shareholder meetings to investor roadshows, and the agri-food sector, with its trade fairs and technical visits. We also interpret for tourism and destination events and for fashion, art and culture, where the tone of the message matters as much as its accuracy.
Send us the date, the venue and the languages, and you get a detailed proposal back within 24 hours. No intermediaries, no call centre, no template. You talk to the team that will actually run your event.
